Excellent for people who work while traveling.
Few comments:
(1) I use "Home" and "End" commands all the time to move cursors, but this laptop does not have dedicated (direct) keys for "Home" and "End", instead you need to do "Fn+PageUp" for Home and "Fn+PageDown" for End. Even worse- I need to do press 3 keys to affect "Shift+Home" or "Shift+End." Why those rarely used keys F1 thru F12 getting priorities over other commonly used keys? A dedicated button for context menu is just a waste of the valuable space on the keyboard!

(2) There is no direct key to lower volume or mute volume. This is very very inconvenient, risky and embarrassing when you need to lower or mute volume when say your phone rings.

(3) Power button is immediately above Esc key. For those who use Esc repeatedly, it takes a while to learn to not press the power button while trying to press Esc.

I own an IT consulting company, needed an ultra portable for going out to customers. This little Acer doesn't replace my desktop, but it's every bit a real laptop in a tiny package. Laptop with 3 gig of memory runs Photoshop CS5 almost as fast as my workstation. Truly behaves like a full power laptop. The keyboard will take a little bit of getting used to; the keys are flat and have the feel of an ATM. Page Up and Page Down keys are placed odd, but that's not a big deal at all. Luckily, the touchpad is fine (there's no bluetooth on board), it's a bit small for gestures, though they do work. A 4+ battery life is perfectly acceptable to me, since this is a 3 lb laptop! Looked at the HP DM1 that's the same 11.1" screen at Best Buy, with an AMD chip, about the same price. Feel like the Acer is a little less plastic-feeling, slightly bigger hard drive, Intel chip. I went with a recommendation to upgrade to Crucial 8 gig memory kit for $85 (CT2KIT51264BC1067); it's not really any faster than with 3 gig, as the additional memory is never really taken advantage of. I would recommend the appropriate 2 gig module (comes with a 2 gig and 1 gig) to go to 4, but don't go out of your way to do so.

An excellent value overall. Highly recommend as an ultraportable.

A steal for around $400. A developer by trade, I run a full version of Visual Studio 2010 with little to no issue. This laptop has the performance to handle it. The screen size, quality, and resolution make it great for productivity use as well. Movies were a bit choppy to watch and coming back from sleep/hibernate can take a while, I attribute the latter to the McAfee Anti-Virus scans more than anything. I would recommend downloading a lightweight anti-virus application.

Overall, I have been very pleased as it was exactly what I was looking for: light, powerful, and cheap. I would highly recommend this laptop for any students or commuters.
